Attractive, conveniently located apartment
Having previously rented apartments in other cities, we were amazed by Paulo, the owner of the apartment, who was by far the most attentive host. He picked us up at the airport, gave us a tour of the city, inspired us with his enthusiasm for all things Portuguese, and was available at all times to answer questions, make recommendations and to replenish any supplies we may need.

A wonderful stay in a wonderful city
The appartment is located perfectly: secluded and (mostly) very quiet at night, although very near to a huge variety of restaurants, cafe´s and a vivid nightlife. Most attractions of Lisboa are within walking distance, in addition trams and the metro are only a few minutes away. The flat is very cozy and well equipped with everything you could ask for (even dishwasher, washing machine and dryer!).
All in all a wonderful stay in a wonderful city! Highly recommended!

The tiny neighborhood, found between the Bairro Alto and Cais do Sodré districts, is made up of cobbled lanes and stairways, dating back to 1597, after a landslide. The land belonged to an influential Jew with ties to our King João II, and was first inhabited by fishermen and fishwives. The name comes from a 17th-century water fountain ("bica"), although there are still several in the area, that belonged to Duarte Belo, a local merchant. The fountains were popular meeting places, filling the neighborhood with life.
Bica offers a beautiful view of the river, and maintains the colorful 17th- and 18th-century buildings, many always with open doors, flower-filled balconies and laundry out to dry.
Going up the hill, in less than 5mn walking, are the neighbourhoods of Bairro Alto (simultaneously old-fashioned and avant-garde, a shabby-chic neighborhood that really needs no name, it's simply the "bairro", the neighborhood where everything happens at night) and Chiado (the elegant and trendiest neighborhood where most of the buildings are from the 1700s, side-by-side with theaters, charming old bookshops and a lot of shops of major international brands). Both absolutly unmissable
Welcome to Bica.
